Virginia W. Rossy, 85
Virginia W. Rossy, 85, of Selbyville, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. She had been in banking and real estate.
She was a member of St. Matthews by the Sea United Methodist Church, Fenwick Island, and a member of Moose Lodge #453 in College Park, Md.
She is survived by a son, Randall E. Mitchell, and a daughter, Nancy Roche; four grandchildren, Stacy Allen, Toni Newkirk, Renee Roche and Brian Roche; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Allen, Jacob Allen and Ryan Allen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brady M. Rossy in 2003.
Funeral services were scheduled for June 12, at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, with internment at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to Roxana Volunteer Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, 35943 Zion Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945.
Alton E. Spicer, 73
Alton E. Spicer, 73, of Princess Anne, Md., died on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the home of his son, Greg. He was a meat cutter working for Acme Markets and Meatland for many years; he retired from Meatland in 2000.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War era.
He is survived by two sons, Greg A. Spcier and his wife Wendy, and Johnny Wade Spicer and his wife Beth; one step-daughter, Susan Ward; one brother, Richard Spicer; three sisters, Ann Hudson, Helen Mumford; and Pat Gordon; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, June 16, at noon at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington Street, Millsboro, where friends may call at 11 a.m. Internment will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be sent to Delaware Hospice, Southern Division, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown.
Jay Stevenson, 67
Jay Stevenson, 67, of Dagsboro, died on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He worked for Delmarva Power, Indian River Plant, for 34 years, starting as a lineman and retiring as the maintenance foreman in 1995.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the submarine U.S.S. Thornback. He was a member of the Country Chapel near Millsboro. He was also a member of Doric Lodge A. F. & A.M. #30, Millville, the National Street Road Association, the Bay Shore Hot Rod Association, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He and his wife touched the lives of many children serving as foster parents for the past 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah Lockwood Stevenson; three children, Jay Stevenson and his wife Kristi; Kimberly Adams and her husband Troy, and Eric F. Stevenson; one step-brother, Samuel Warrington; and three grandchildren, Jay Cody Stevenson, Neesa Aubree Stevenson and Maximus Dale Adams.
Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday, June 15, at the Grace U.M. Church, Church & Morris Street, Millsboro at 2 p.m.

Joseph G. Camiel, 77
Joseph G. Camiel, 77, of Ocean Pines, Md., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa. died on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at home. He had been an auditor for the state of Pennsylvania and also a partner in the Camiel Beverage Co. in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Ocean Pines, and a member of the Worcester County Democratic Club, the Polish American Club of Delmarva and the Irish American Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Camiel; one son, Michael J. Camiel; two daughters, Patricia C. Conley and Cathleen Camiel; one brother, Edwin J. Camiel; seven grandchildren, Karen Conley-Whitacre, Robert Conley, Jr., Brendan Cameil, Caitlin Camiel, Adam Camiel, Jacob Camiel and Sarah Camiel; one great-grandson, William R. Whitacre; and one godson, Stephen Lesczynski and his wife Linda.
A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for June 13 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Ocean Pines, Md.

Laila Alana Carrero, 1 month
Laila Alana Carrero, 1 month, of Millsboro, died June 8, 2006, at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Family said she was a precious daughter that filled her parents’ hearts with so much love.
She is survived by her parents, Norberto Carrero Jr. and Stacey Baker; paternal grandparents, Norberto Sr. and Gloria Carrero; her maternal grandparents, Lesa Harris and step-grandfather, Rodney Handy; great-grandparents, Angel and Maria Carrero, Dolores Maldonado and Bill Baker; one aunt, GloriaBeth Carrero; one great-aunt, Judy Wharton; three uncles, Jeremy Baker, Frank Harris Jr. and Bradley Harris. In addition, she is survived by many special relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfather, Miguel Maldonado and maternal great-grandparents, Janet Baker and Roland and Tavola Taylor.
Graveside services were scheduled for June 13 at Dagsboro Redmen’s Cemetery.
