Our focus is truly local, with local reporters attending nearly all official meetings in each of our towns, as well as following news and events in the area’s non-incorporated communities. Quiet Resorts gives largest donations to Meals on Wheels
Sussex County’s senior population got a boost recently when the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) presented its largest donation ever to help fight hunger through Cheer’s Meals on Wheels.

The Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission this week recommended denial of the three applications by Castways LLC that would pave the way for Castaways Bethany, a proposed development consisting of a campground, multi-family duplex residential units and a water park, located off of Cedar Neck Road in Ocean View.

Suspects sought in park vandalism
Police are seeking help identifying the individuals responsible for damaging property at John West Park in Ocean View. According to police, unknown people have damaged and vandalized park property on multiple occasions over the past two months. Picnic tables and electrical outlets have been broken and the park bathrooms have been vandalized.
Thanksgiving weekend offers peek in to local artists’ studios
From South Bethany to Bethany, Ocean View to Dagsboro, little Southeastern Sussex is full of artists willing and able to open up their working studios and galleries to people who are interested in seeing them in action, creating their masterpieces. This weekend, as they have for the past 18 years, artists will welcome guests to start the holiday season right after Thanksgiving.
