Southern Delaware real estate continues modest growth

For the fifth consecutive year, data compiled and released by the Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) earlier this month indicates a period of modest growth in the region’s real estate markets.

Again led by the coastal market, the numbers indicate nearly $1.52 billion in southern Delaware real estate changed hands in 2015, which is a 1 percent increase over the previous year.

Vacation home sales have increased nationally for the fourth straight year and have now soared to levels not seen since before the start of the Great Recession, according to data released recently by the Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Recent data shows a stable real estate market in Sussex County

The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAOR) released third-quarter sales data last week that they said indicates continuing stability in the county’s real estate markets.

“These positive housing trends continue to be fueled by strong inventories, incredible buying opportunities and interest rates that remain at below average levels,” they said.

Smith joins ResortQuest’s West Fenwick office

ResortQuest Real Estate announced recently that Shelby Smith has joined the West Fenwick office on Route 54 in real estate sales as part of the Windrow Team.

Smith graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in business management and worked as a financial analyst before moving to the resort area and obtaining her Delaware real estate license.
